The Champion Companies Brings IOTAS Smart Home Tech to Central Ohio

LEWIS CENTER, OH— Having already set the bar for apartment renovations in Central Ohio, The Champion Companies is forging ahead to further enhance its residents’ living experience.

In partnership with IOTAS – a Portland-based technology company – Champion is installing a total Smart Home Technology Package in all units of the Oak Creek at Polaris community in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Part of a larger $7 million renovation project at the site, the smart apartments are already leasing and represent the first units in Central Ohio to contain IOTAS’s distinctive technology. Each unit boasts smart lights, thermostats, outlets and door locks that can all be controlled from a simple smart phone app.

“With stiff competition for a high-quality apartment product all over the Polaris area, we knew we needed to rise above by offering residents an amenity that they didn’t know they needed, and soon will find it hard to live without,” said David Hatcher, Champion’s chief construction officer.

In addition to the technological upgrade, each unit is also receiving granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, flooring and more.  The community’s common areas will likewise see a significant overhaul with the completion of a newly constructed Community Center and state of the art fitness center replacing the current clubhouse.  Various outdoor amenities like a playground and expanded pool area will also be added after the winter months.
