Survey Says: The Champion Companies a Best Place to Work for 2nd Year in a Row

WESTERVILLE, OH – The Champion Companies celebrated being ranked No. 4 out of the 10 medium-sized companies at the Business First Best Places to Work Luncheon on Nov. 8.

This is the second year in a row that Champion has made the list, which is compiled from real employee feedback through anonymous satisfaction surveys. Business First collaborates with Quantam Workplace to conduct the surveys and tally scores for each nominee, to determine overall employee satisfaction.

“There are few better feelings for a business owner than to know that your team members are happy and fulfilled at work,” said Champion President and CEO Brian Yeager. “We started Champion on the foundation that our people would be our differentiator, and achieving a Best Places to Work award for the 2nd year in a row just shows me we are succeeding in that mission.”

Champion has many programs in place throughout the year to keep morale high and team members engaged. Besides social events like baseball games and happy hours, Champion also takes every opportunity to bring its team members together to publicly recognize hard work, and to communicate company-wide news and goals.

“We put our people and our culture before everything at Champion,” said Kelli Berner, the company’s human resources director. “To get on the list for consecutive years is a testament to just how important that philosophy is, especially as we continue to grow year after year.”

And grow Champion has, especially in 2017. When the surveys were distributed earlier this year, Champion qualified as a medium-sized company with 50-99 employees. But, by the luncheon on Nov. 8, Champion already had 107 team members—elevating the company into the large-sized category should it make the list again in 2018.
