The Champion Companies Raises Over $88,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters
COLUMBUS, OH – On March 5, The Champion Companies celebrated an unprecedented fundraising effort at the 2016 Bowl For Kids’ Sake event, benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.
Exceeding its goal of $75,000, The Champion Companies raised $88,807 for BBBS, holding its position for the third consecutive year as the No. 2 fundraising company in Central Ohio out of 66 companies.
“We have a passion for giving back to the community,” Brian Yeager, president and CEO said. “It’s an honor to raise money for an organization such as Big Brothers Big Sisters where we know the dollars raised will make a direct impact on children in Central Ohio.”
The Champion Companies, one of this year’s presenting sponsors, had nearly 85 people, consisting of 55 team members and their families, participate in Saturday’s event.
“Brian and I are truly in awe of the support and effort put forth by our team members this year,” Michelle Yeager-Thornton, co-founder and COO, said. “The fact that almost everyone in our company elected to participate in this event is a true testament to the caliber of people who make up Champion.”
BBBS is a non-profit prevention-based agency that serves the community by providing quality mentoring relationships to children and youth in need of a friend.
The 2016 Bowl For Kids’ Sake raised more than $533,000. According to BBBS, it costs $1,200 to provide one mentoring relationship for a year. With the dollars raised by The Champion Companies, BBBS can fund approximately 74 mentorships for children within Central Ohio.
