Who doesn’t love grilled cheese and tomato soup? It’s the ultimate comfort food, especially for cold and rainy days. And anyone can make it! But, few can make it like Tom+Chee in Hilliard on Hilliard-Rome Road.

Starting as a mere food tent in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tom+Chee’s presence in Columbus is relatively new, but ever since they opened their two locations (the other in Pickerington), they have been feeding crowds of people who have an appetite for unexpected grilled cheese sandwiches.

The restaurant’s motto is “Eat What’s Fun!” and some of those fun options include: the BLT+Chee, the Hippy+Chee, the Flying Pig, and the famous Grilled Cheese Donut options. Yes, you read that right, a grilled cheese with a donut for the bread. They also have fresh-made soups and salads with mini grilled cheese croutons on top.

This place carries quite the reputation, having been featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank” & “The Chew” and Travel Channel’s “Man v Food Nation” & “Amazing Eats.” Also, NBC’s “Today” show named the Grilled Cheese Donut a “Best New Sandwich in America.”
