The 2014 Bowl for Kids’ Sake

For the past month and a half, Champion has been busy. And we’re not just talking about our business. We’re talking about our employees and their friends and families working hard to raise funds for the 2014 Bowl for Kids’ Sake, an event that benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

On Saturday, February 15, Champion employees formed 13 teams and gathered with many other companies in Central Ohio at the Columbus Bowling Palace for the 2014 Bowl For Kids’ Sake event.

There was bowling, there was face-painting for the kids, there were hot dogs and cake, and most importantly, there was the tallying of donations for BBBS. Our goal for 2014 was $12,000 raised …

… and we doubled that with an outstanding $25,275! We could not be more proud of our team for their efforts to benefit BBBS, an organization that Champion has been supporting since its inception as a company.

Champion’s President and CEO, Brian Yeager, has been involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters since 2005, and also organizes the Doc & Yeager Golf Invitational each summer to benefit the charity. In 2013, the Doc & Yeager raised $20,000 for it’s 10th anniversary year.

The final totals for money raised are still being counted, as before the event, BBBS had over $440,000 to count from all of the participating companies. We can only hope in the final tallies that they will reach their $450,000 goal and we are proud to have been the 2nd highest fundraisers out of 77 different companies to help them get there.
